Joining the Bandwagon of Donut Buying (and blogging about it)

Went to Subang Parade today immediately after Friday prayer with the intention of looking at handphones and PDAs. After taking a look at some of the handphones and PDAs I became confused so I went to look at other shops there. Then I stumble upon a donut shop, Big Apple Donuts and Coffee at what used to be Delifrance. Saw people lining up to buy these donuts but the line wasn't long. So I took a look at the donuts they are selling and they looked colourful. I've read a lot of blogs that mentioned about a new donut shop named J something at the Pavillion. They wrote the donuts there are so good and addictive that the line would already be long the moment the shop is opened. So I decided to buy some donuts at the Big Apple but then I decided not to since I'm not a donut person. Instead I went to have iced coffee, karipap and the melt-in-your mouth kaya toast at Uncle Lim Kopitiam. But then when I'm about to leave Subang Parade I decided to buy the donuts from BA. Thus, I have joined the bandwagon of designer donut buying and blogging about it (copycat, catch a rat gitu). Here are some pictures I took once I reached home.

The Box

The Donuts

The one at the top left is Durian flavoured, that's why it's thorny. I think it is called Duren Duren as in Duran Duran (The reflex, flex..flex...flex...plex...plex...pliak..pliak..pliak...buah pliak). It has a strong durian taste since the durian itself has a strong flavour. Not for those who do not like durians, of course.

I think the one the top right is called California Almond.

The one below the Duren Duren is I think Mango Tango. Below it is the Semi-Glaze. Next to it is Snowy or Snow flakes or Snow something, powdered sugar at the top with a creamy vanilla filling. Can't remember what the cholocolate covered one is called. So far I've eaten three and they were good. Nevertheless, I don't think I'm addicted to them but will buy them to bring to people who invite me for a meal. I still like my 'Cuk Kria'. You get 3 for RM1.00.

They're going to open one on Pavilion...hmm...

One a totally different note, I didn't know that they are selling IPhones now in Malaysia. At the end of last year I was thinking of asking my friend who worked in Singapore to buy one there for about SD800. It was supposed to be the 'unlocked' version. With this version you can't download anything from the Internet. If you try to it will automatically locked your phone and you will not be able to use it anymore. Since that was the case I scraped the idea of purchasing one.
According to the Jinjang Joe salesboy at the shop, you can download things from the Internet with the ones sold here. However, there is no warranty and if anything happens to the phone you have to send it to the States, hmmm. The cash price is RM2050.
Well, I was actually looking for the new Samsung F700. It is not available yet in Malaysia. Sigh.
